The Aero P1 Leg Protectors are built around a very different idea to a traditional batting pad: absorb serious pace, control the rebound and strip away as much unnecessary weight as possible.

Rated for ball speeds up to 160kph, the P1 is Aero’s elite batting leg protector for premier, representative and high-level club cricketers. Aero rates it at up to 65% lighter than old-style legguards, which is a significant difference when you’re repeatedly getting forward, rocking onto the back foot or pushing hard for a second run.

The P1 uses shaped protection around the leg rather than relying on the bulky profile of a conventional pad. Aero combines the shaping of the front leg protector with a patented internal air cavity to manage what happens when the ball strikes the pad, while Ultrastop low-rebound technology is designed to take pace out of the deflection. For a batter, that matters beyond simply absorbing the blow: a ball that dies closer to your feet is less likely to ricochet away sharply after impact. The close-fitting construction also reduces excess bulk around the inside of the legs, giving you a cleaner path through your footwork and less pad interference when running between wickets.
