Traditional junior pads can feel like a lot of equipment on a small batter. Aero P3 Leg Protectors use 3D-moulded, closed-cell foam construction to cut that bulk dramatically while still providing protection against ball speeds up to 110kph.

They’re built specifically for junior and youth cricketers, where keeping the legs free matters for both technique and confidence. Aero rates the P3 at up to 65% lighter than traditional youth pads, so young batters can get their front foot moving, turn quickly after contact and run between the wickets without heavy pads fighting every stride.

Rather than relying on the cane-heavy construction of a conventional batting pad, the P3 uses tough closed-cell foam shaped three-dimensionally around the leg. This close anatomical fit reduces excess material around the inside of the knees and lower legs, helping prevent the pads knocking together when running or moving across the crease. Only 2 adjustable straps are required to hold each protector securely in position, avoiding that painful rubbing behind the knee that traditional pads have. Aero has also upgraded the internal liner with 20mm-thick foam, adding cushioning against impact while improving comfort where the protector sits against the shin. The ambidextrous design means there’s no separate left- or right-handed model.
